2 Publications at a Time, Plus a Haiku on the Side
I usually have 2 books addressing when. One is nonfiction– something to feed my interest, teach me a new ability, or expand my understanding of the world. The other is fiction– something to stimulate my creativity and let me live an additional life for some time. I’ll check out a phase in one, after that switch to the other, and keep alternating till I complete them both. Then I select 2 new ones and duplicate the cycle.
This balance maintains me involved. Nonfiction premises me in facts and insights. Fiction widens my compassion and creativity. Reading them alongside maintains me from obtaining bogged down in either one and often produces unanticipated connections. It’s like cross-training for the mind.
Just recently, though, I have actually been including a 3rd element: poetry. And that’s where points obtain intriguing for photography.
